FFXIV Digital Sales Resume in Europe and North America

I have at least two friends still waiting to get into Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, and I’m sure many of you and your friends are in the same situation. While the game’s digital sales have yet to resume in North America, Europeans can head to the Square Enix online store and buy it right now.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn digital sales were put on hold three weeks ago after the game’s population reached critical mass post-launch. With thousands of players unable to login, Square Enix decided to pull the plug on sales until the server issues were dealt with.

Though they have yet to make an announcement on digital sales, Europeans who have been locked out thus far can head to the Square Enix shop and buy the game as of just a little while ago. The notification of the halt on digital sales has been removed and the ‘Buy Now’ button has been restored.

Sales are open in North America!

I initially wrote this article before the North American Square Enix store had resumed sales, but luckily enough they are now up and ready for your clicky-finger!

With server stability at its highest since launch and errors having become rarer than ever, the three-week lock on Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn sales was a much-needed measure — but now that it’s over, it’s time for those of you who were a bit late to the party to buy!
