Final Fantasy VII to be released for iOS

FFVII makes its way to iOS, because you can never get enough FFVII

Final Fantasy VII is coming out…again. The best-selling iteration of the Final Fantasy series is entering the realm of mobile gaming. With the next Applestore update, iOS will be receiving a ported version of the PC game, complete with touch controls.

If you simply couldn’t get enough of Final Fantasy VII on the PlayStation, PlayStation 3, or PSP, and can’t wait to get your hands on the ported version that’s coming to PlayStation 4 or the remake that will follow (eventually), this is your chance to make sure you’re never without the classic game.

On the other hand, maybe it’s time to finally find out what all the fuss is about. You’ve been hearing about the game since 1997, and now you don’t even need a new piece of hardware to play it. RPGs are long games, and not everyone has the time to sit down and take several hours a night to finish one. Now you can play it as you please, on the go.

How the controls will translate is yet to be seen, but the turn-based nature of combat and non-combat exploratory sections will allow the touch controls to be less-than-perfect without ruining the game. You can also turn off random combat encounters.

Along with the game, the Final Fantasy Portal app will be released and will include the Final Fantasy VIII card game Triple Triad.
