Minus a few gameplay videos, there is not much currently known about the game. However, an interview conducted by WCCFtech.com has revealed some information about the longevity of the game.

Nels Anderson, who worked on the game, commented on several aspects of the game including how many hours gamers will spend wandering the Wyoming wilderness. Anderson commented on the longevity of Firewatch by saying, “It’s pretty hard to say since there’s actually quite a lot of “off the beaten path” areas in the game that players won’t have to visit. On average, I’d say maybe 5-6 hours.”

While the short 5-6 hours of main story may be a turn off for some gamers, the excerpt about there being quite a bit of ‘off the beaten path’ areas to optionally visit should win back some gamers. Firewatch will launch February 9th, 2016 and will be available for PS4 as well as PCs containing the programs Linux, Microsoft Windows or OS X.
