Game Dev Tycoon: Soon to Release on Steam

Game Dev Tycoon set to release on Steam, August 29th. A great business simulation game, made for any game lover and aspiring developer.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

There’s this wonderful management simulation game that the developers at Greenheart Games have come up with. As in its title, Game Dev Tycoon, it’s what you would expect; a tycoon game. It’s been available for a while on their site for the small price of $7.99. Don’t worry to those of you who purchased it earlier like I did, they will distribute Steam keys to existing customers when it’s released later this month on August 29th.

Why I’m excited for this Steam-y Steam Release

As many know, I’m really into management games, and this game is fantastic. Not only do you start out in the 80s developing games out of a garage, you get to build your own gaming company. Being a Business major, this business simulation game hits my major right on the spot. Not to mention, you design games – in a video game! What could be better?

If you think you’re the most bad-ass gamer, then I suggest you take a look into this game. Not only is it intriguing, but it’s challenging. You get to develop games with different genres, features, platforms, and investments. You’d think you would be savvy at this, being an avid gamer, but you would be mistaken.

If you think you got what it takes to become the biggest and baddest gaming developer, check it out. I’ll be posting my official review about it in the near future and I’d love to compare.

To those who have the game, comment and give me your story about your experience, and for those who haven’t played it check it out on Steam August 29th. Plus, it’s on sale for 20% off until September 5th, making it only $7.99 compared to the original price of $9.99.
