Genshin Impact 3.5 Update Brings Back Windblume Festival, Adds New Characters

Genshin Impact Version 3.5 sees the Windblume Festival return with fun minigames and two new characters.

Genshin Impact is leaving one festival and heading into another. Just like the transition between Version 1.3 and Version 1.4 over two years ago, the Lantern Rite festival is ending and the Windblume Festival is beginning in the upcoming Genshin Impact Version 3.5 update, “Windblume’s Breath.”

Starting on March 1, 2023, you’ll be able to partake in the love-themed celebration in Mondstadt. The Windblume’s Breath flagship event will feature a story focusing on Collei and revealing more about her history.

You’ll also be able to take part in three other events:

  • Floral Pursuit – A balloon-collecting minigame that can be played solo or with other players in co-op.
  • Ballads of Breeze – A returning rhythm game featuring three different instruments and an editing mode.
  • Breezy Snapshots – A challenge requiring players to take photos that meet specific requirements, such as being in a precise location at a particular time of day.

More events will also run concurrently with the flagship event. Spices From the West: Northerly Search revolves around a cooking minigame, Fungus Mechanicus is played like a top-down strategy game, and the Vibro-Crystal Verification is a set of combat trials with various Vibro-Crystal buffs. The reoccurring Ley Line Overflow event will be available, too, letting you receive three sets of double rewards each day.

New Characters and Story Quests

Aside from the festival, two of the biggest highlights with the 3.5 Update are the new characters.

Mika is being added as a 4-star Cryo Polearm user, while Dehya is touted as the new 5-star Pyro Claymore user. Dehya will also receive her own story quest and have her Beacon of the Reed Sea Claymore weapon available. An interesting tidbit to remember is that she won’t stay event-exclusive and will be added to the Wanderlust Invocation wish pool beginning with Version 3.6.

A new “Heated Battle Mode” will also be added for the Genius Invokation TCG, reducing the cost of elemental dice actions and quickening the pace of the game. More rewards are also being added for completing Archon Quests, including one Intertwined Fate for each quest finished. These rewards will additionally be applied retroactively, so no one will miss out as long as they remember to claim them.

Finally, Dainsleif will return in the 3.5 Update for the new Archon Quest titled Caribert. This story quest will focus on the Traveler’s story and reveal more about the Kingdom of Khaenri’ah.
