The first group stage includes the following matches: TNL vs Big Gods, Team Naventic vs Renovatio I, mYinsanity vs GIA, and EDward Gaming vs Negative Synergy. The four winning teams from day 1 will move on to the Second Group Stage, where they have to face against 1st seeds from China, Korea, Europe, and North America.

Winners from Second Group Stage will compete against each other in the Semifinals on April 2nd, and will move one step closer to the Championship.

In addition to the Spring Championship title, teams will be competing over a $500,000 prize pool.
  • 1st- $150,000
  • 2nd- $75,000
  • 3rd/4th- $50,000
  • 5th/6th- $37,500
  • 7th/8th- $25,000
  • 9-12th- $12,500
Moreover, Blizzard announced that the Spring Championship will be broadcast in several languages.

It wouldn’t be much of a global tournament if only a few languages were recognized. Only English and Korean casters have been announced so far, but a complete list should be up soon.

As with most eSport tournaments, I’ll be rooting for North America. Out of the two NA teams competing this year, Cloud 9 has the best chances of winning. They showed great team work during the NA Spring Regionals, and demonstrated their ability to win after being behind. But it is a long way to the Championship. C9 is going up against the world’s best teams so we will see how they look during Second Group Stages on Friday.
