Pokemon Sword and Shield launched to somewhat mixed reception, but alongside the upcoming DLC, the Isle of Armor, Game Freak has also been doling out regular freebies for players to claim in the game. This time around, it’s some free Bottle Caps, which allow you to max out a Pokemon’s base stats, making competitive play far easier for those of us without the hundreds of hours necessary to normally do it.

All you have to do is select the Mystery Gift option from the menu, then choose to receive a gift using a code or password.

Enter the code C0MPET1T10N, and you’ll get the Bottle Cap added to your inventory. You’ve only got until March 30 to redeem this one, though, so make sure you do it before then, or you’ll have really missed out.

If you’re looking for more things to do in Pokemon Sword and Shield, why not have a look at the Toxitricity event that’s going on right now or the mythical Pokemon coming to the game for Pokemon Day 2020.

If that’s still not enough, then have a read on what to expect when Pokemon Home launches soon.
