Goo-reat News, Tactics Fans: Dragon Quest Tact Heads West Soon

Dragon Quest Tact, a tactical spinoff of the Dragon Quest series, is coming to mobile devices in the West.

Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest Tact, a tactical spinoff of the Dragon Quest series, is headed West for Android devices — at some point. Pre-registration for the mobile game is open now for Android devices, but there’s no firm Dragon Quest Tact release date yet or info on when it will come to Apple devices.

Android users can pre-register for the game’s impending beta. As with Tact’s release date, there is currently no word on when the beta will begin.

Players take control of a hero tasked with assembling a team of monsters and going up against corrupt monsters serving the Dark Lord in his bid to destroy Orchesterra.

There’s no shortage of monsters to pick from, with multitudes of creatures spanning the entire Dragon Quest series showing up. Each has unique skills suited for specific situations, making team balance an important factor.

They all have different rarity levels, too, which, of course, means gacha.

While Dragon Quest Tact features a Scout recruitment mechanic and options to pay for new summons, there’s also a feature that lets players recruit from a rotating list of monsters without spending any money.

Gacha or not, Dragon Quest Tact is a full Dragon Quest experience. Yuji Horii is the game’s director, and all the art comes from Akira Toriyama’s classic designs, unlike Dragon Quest: Your Story‘s venture into new territory earlier in 2020.

Stay tuned to GameSkinny for more Dragon Quest Tact news as it develops, including information on its release date. In the meantime, be sure to pre-register for the mobile game via the link above!
