This will be the first console release for the franchise, and will include a couple of special features for Hatsune Miku fans, including updated graphics and additional songs. The Japanese game already has over “950,000 dedicated English speaking fans on Facebook,” and evidently sold out the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles in 2011.

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, Hatsune Miku is a singing synthesizer application with a humanoid persona. Hatsune Miku performs at concerts onstage as a projection, and is basically a pop icon in Japan.

The release is scheduled for August 2013, and the demo will be out on June 11th
