Sega Amusements has announced via Twitter that House of the Dead: Scarlet Dawn, the newest entry in the House of the Dead series, will release in arcades outside of Japan in the near future.

Scarlet Dawn is set after The House of the Dead 4, and players can take on the role of either new protagonist Ryan Taylor — the younger brother of James Taylor from The House of the Dead 2 and The House of the Dead 4 — or returning character Kate Green, first introduced in The House of the Dead 4. These two characters are on an undercover mission in a place known as Scarecrow’s Mansion when a mysterious man unleashes the undead on an unsuspecting populace.

Previously, gameplay footage was revealed from location tests at select arcades in Japan before the full release.

Given the previous console releases of The House of the Dead 4 on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4, it can be assumed that Scarlet Dawn may have a console release at a later date.
