Immortals of Aveum 6-Minute Gameplay Trailer Proves Magic is Rad

The gameplay trailer for EA's Immortals of Aveum gives a heavy does of combat and beauty.

A new Immortals of Aveum gameplay trailer has been released by Ascendant Studios and EA Originals. Running six minutes, the trailer highlights the game’s battle mechanics, the different types of magic you’ll cast, and more. Here are more details on the world of Immortals of Aveum.

The trailer opens with a cinematic scene above a battlefield, where Jak, the Aveum‘s protagonist, is locked in battle. Sigils, Rings, and Totems are utilized throughout the fight to bring down enemies, shield against attacks, and move around. The three types of magic — Chaos (red), Life (green), and Force (blue) — are switched between to emphasize the game’s distinct playstyles.

While the battlefield is chaotic and fast-paced, a later scene with a brief puzzle, and then a one-on-one fight, shows off the beauty and detail of the world.

As one of the first games to release using Unreal Engine 5.1, the details of the area are stunning. Incorporating Nanite to create realistic scenery, the technology creates minute details based on how far away you are from an object. The closer you are, the more details you’ll see.

Lumen helps bring the life-like feeling home with dynamic lighting, allowing you to stay completely immersed in the moment without awkward lighting to distract your focus.

Along with technologies that bring realism to the game, World Partition helps Aveum‘s large maps load more efficiently. Larger maps are scaled down into smaller sections but the open-world feel is present. You’ll be able to completely traverse from one end of a map to another with complete detail at every moment.

For all the technology advances and details in Immortals of Aveum, head to the Ascendant Studios blog post on EA Originals. Stay tuned for more updates as Immortals of Aveum nears its release on July 20, 2023.
