The game is currently on Kickstarter seeking 700k to complete its production. Friday The 13th will be an online-only multiplayer game, that pits Crystal Lake camp counselors against the legendary Jason Vorhees. Counselors must survive the night and escape Jason if they wish to win; playing co-operatively is key.

One of the coolest parts of the game is that original crew members from the “Friday the 13th” franchise will be part of the development team, including creator Sean Cunningham, and legend actor Kane Hodder; who plays as Jason. Hodder will do the motion capture for Jason, which will call from some of the most brutalist takedowns ever. From choke holding counselors up off the ground, and smashing their face into a tree. Repeatedly. Or lifting a counselor up above your head as they kick and scream, holding them aloft long enough to walk near a rack of farm spikes to slam your victim down upon them.

According to the developer “We are not going for anything less than a Mature Rating on this; the franchise deserves it! These scenarios might also make their way to VR, and would bring an entirely new perspective to the slasher genre!

As of now the game will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One and PC, October 2016. There are plenty of unannounced stretch goals that could bring the game to other platforms if you want to help back the game, click here.
