Capcom has a new IP in the works, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess was First revealed during Summer Game Fest and will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. No release date was provided with the announcement trailer, but it will be available Day One on Game Pass for PC and Xbox. This is what we currently know about Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess.
The story of Path of the Goddess revolves around the woman seen in the trailer. Known as the Spirit Stone Maiden, she has the power to clear and lock away the evil spirits, known as Seethe, corrupting the land. Escorting her through the cursed lands of the holy mountain, you’ll fight your way through the Seethe so she can perform a cleansing ritual. This story is about the age-old fight between the spirit realm and the realm of humans.
The trailer for Path of the Goddess features traditional Japanese elements and is built in RE Engine. The stunning colors and macabre horror of the enemies are a standout and remind of games like Nioh from Team Ninja. Additional information given during the Capcom Showcase stated it’s a blend of action and strategy, but the developer didn’t expand further.
