Well the hero is back–sort of. Mortal Kombat X will see the return of veteran fighter, and main protagonist of the series, Liu Kang, but this time, he’s bicycle kicking for a different team.

As revealed in the trailer above, Liu Kang and his Shaolin ally, Kung Lao, have been resurrected to serve lord Shinnok (the bad guy) after their untimely deaths in Mortal Kombat 9. To stop them, Raiden is seeking the assistance of their teacher, Bo Rai Cho.

Liu Kang is coming back with the same fire balls and over the top kung-fu kicks, but will be sporting all new fatalities. The one featured in the trailer definitely seems a little gruesome for a Shaolin monk, but perfect for an evil one.

Whether Bo Rai Cho will be playable in the game has yet to be revealed. The character has gotten a lot of hate from fans, as his comical puking and farting attacks were thought to have negatively affected series. However, there’s a chance that the Shaolin master is done barfing, as he seemed a bit more serious and a lot thinner in the trailer.

The character reveals are rolling in fast, so Bo Rai Cho could very well be the next kombatant outted. Just last weak, 2 veterans and 2 guest characters were revealed as DLC! Either way, we’ll find out soon, as the game is set to release on April 14th for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
