Insomniac Games, developer of the Ratchet & Clank series, as well as the original Spyro the Dragon trilogy and Sunset Overdrive, has released a brand new VR-exclusive game for Oculus Rift. Titled Edge of Nowhere, it is now available for purchase via the Oculus Store.
The official website describes the action-adventure game as an “unsettling psychological thriller.” The story takes place in the frigid temperatures of Antarctica, as protagonist Victor Howard searches for his missing fiancé, Ava Thorne. Ava is part of a missing expedition team, and in his search, Victor must encounter various challenges — both native and alien (literally).
Victor’s obstacles include huge ice walls, “treacherous” mountains, dark caves, and cliffs. The site pushes the use of wits as well as weapons to conquer these areas, in the hope of escaping internal and external turmoil.
