Microsoft releases TMNT Mutants in Manhattan trailer early

Microsoft jumped the gun and leaked their TMNT game earlier than they wanted.

So much for that TMNT countdown on the Platinum Games website. Microsoft jumped the gun tonight and posted an ASX file containing the “official leak” of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan a little too early. The people of the Internet – tech savvy and impatient as they are – messed around with the file and came up with a low quality version of the upcoming trailer.

The video features the notorious Foot Clan taking over the streets, and appearances by fan favorites Bebop the mutant warthog and Rocksteady the black rhinoceros.

April O’Neil makes a small cameo in the trailer to tell us “just how bad things are”, and other character appearances include The Shredder (most likely the final boss), and Armaggon, the mutant shark. Strangely there was no sign of Casey Jones – will he make an appearance?

Gameplay in the upcoming turtle-venture looks mostly hack-and-slash with a lot of combo and special abilities. Teamwork can be used to activate devastating area-of-effect abilities that massacre anyone in the vicinity.

The art style is intriguing from what we can see, falling somewhere between Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions and Borderlands

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan is being developed by Platinum Games and Activision and will be available in Summer 2016 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
