Minecraft Dungeons was first announced back in 2018, and considering the popularity of the survival game it’s based on, we knew it wasn’t that far off. During Microsoft’s X019 celebration yesterday, the game got an actual release window: finally. Minecraft Dungeons‘ release date is slated for April 2020.

A total surprise when announced, Minecraft Dungeons is actually an APRG that will have players dungeon diving together or alone for riches, snazzy loot, and cool weapons — just as one should be doing in an ARPG!

The gameplay trailer released in June of this year shows off some of the game’s main gameplay components, including a variety of weapons, environments, skills, and hordes of mobs waiting to be smote into the ground. If you forgot what the game actually looked like, check out the June reveal trailer below.

If you don’t game on PC or don’t have an Xbox One, you’ll get your chance with Minecraft Dungeons just like everyone else. The game is set to release on not only PC and Xbox One, but also on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
