Mortal Kombat X Revealed

The reveal trailer of NetherRealm Studios next installment in the Mortal Kombat franchise.

This morning the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon, tweeted the reveal trailer of Mortal Kombat X. Although there is no real gameplay footage featured in the trailer, there is an awesome fight between Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Judging from the trailer we can assume that X-Ray moves will be returning, and environmental weapons might show up. Such as when Sub-Zero breaks off a branch from a nearby tree and freezes it.

In the trailer we see some new-gen guts and gore, with the shattering of ribs and the rippling of intestines. Sorry Sub-Zero fans, but Scorpion wins this fight, and does so in traditional Mortal Kombat fashion; with a fatality.

Scorpion screams his iconic phrase “Get Over Here!” while shooting a chain-spear out as his dazed opponent, which embed’s itself deep within Sub-Zero’s forehead. One strong tug later and his head is soaring through the air, as it passes by Scorpion he quickly throws his sword after it. The head bounces off a tree and the sword then makes sure it stays on that tree, via a quick impalement.

Mortal Kombat X is scheduled for a release in 2015.
