Rocket League: Chaos Run DLC announced

Psyonix announces new DLC coming in December, with new Battle-Cars and an all-new arena called Wasteland.

Earlier today, independent developer Psyonix announced “Chaos Run” — the next DLC installment for their most recent car-battler/soccer game, Rocket League.

“Chaos Run” comes to PSN and Steam for $3.99 in early December, and will include 2 new battle-cars, toppers, wheels, decals, and more, all thematically based on a post-apocalyptic, Mad Max-esque art style.

In tandem with the paid DLC, Psyonix will also be releasing the new “Wasteland” arena to all players for free. Besides its distinctly post-nuclear fallout style, Wasteland will also feature a wider pitch, non-traditional Boost placements, and a sloped playing field. Psyonix plans to release more unusual arena designs in the near future.

Here’s what’s coming with Chaos Run:

  • 2 new Battle-Cars
  • 6 new Decals for each new car
  • 2 new Paints
  • 2 new Wheels
  • 2 new Rocket Trails
  • 3 new Toppers
  • 3 new Antennas
  • 5 new Trophies/Achievements

Since the game’s launch on PlayStation 4 and Steam this summer, Psyonix has released two DLC packs for Rocket League. Much like December’s upcoming installment, “Supersonic Fury” featured two battle-cars, Dominus and Takumi, while “Revenge of the Battle-Cars” brought two classic models back from Rocket League’s predecessor, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars (the Scarab and the Zippy). Also, in honor of the recently passed Back to the Future day, Psyonix released a downloadable DeLorean Time Machine Battle-Car model for $1.99.

Combination soccer and car-battler, Rocket League is an independently developed game which met critical acclaim and commercial success upon its release back in July. The game was featured as the PlayStation Plus free game of the month, and was reportedly downloaded more than 5 million times in its first month alone.

As of today’s announcement, Rocket League has seen over 8 million players across all platforms. For more on Psyonix’s crazy digital title, keep an eye on GameSkinny!
