Here’s a pick up for the week to all of you Assassin’s Creeds fans! Ubisoft has just dropped a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag, which showcases new locations that will be available for players to explore and other equally awesome stuff you can expect to find in-game when the title drops.

In the video game director Ashraf Ismail gives the viewer a taste of the new open world, as well as some of the different shenanigans protagonist Edward Kenway can get himself into. Which of course, are in abundance around these parts! For example, in order to visit a tavern to gather information, naturally you have to knock a few guys out to prove your worth.

Gameplay ahoy!

Also amping up the cool factor is the addition of some really neat underwater gameplay, which allows Edward to use a diving bell and take a trip down to the ocean floor.  From there Edward can search for sunken treasure, play hide-n-go-seek with sharks and do battle with moray eels. Spending time underwater can also lead to the discovery of smugglers’ caves, and a chance to take their loot for your own. Of course the kicker is Edward can’t exactly take his weapons into the deep with him, and true to Assassin’s Creed style you will have to use stealth in order to get the jump on opponents.

Along with the slightly controversial ability to whale hunt, Ismail also shows you what happens when your ship’s notoriety begins to climb and you find yourself in the middle of an open sea battle with pirate hunters.

Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag is slated for release on October 29 in North America and  November 1 in Europe on PC, PS3, Wii U, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The game will also be a day one title for both the PS4 and Xbox One.
