Today, BioWare released a new trailer for the studio’s very first PlayStation 4 and Xbox One game, the upcoming Dragon Age: Inquisition. It’s a two-minute look at the game’s locations, foes and factions, and it’s enough to make the ardent role-playing fan salivate.

In a blog post at the developer’s site, producer Cameron Lee said Inquisition is a hefty undertaking and one that’s taking a tremendous amount of effort. The game’s new “emergent” system creates specific scenarios depending on the player’s previous actions. Lee said we’ll see “towns attacked by bandits, deer fleeing from wolves, giants feeding on bears,” etc.

Dragon Age: Inquisition is BioWare’s first next-gen game. It’s also our most ambitious game to date. Nowhere is this more visible than in the incredible size and diversity of locations, life, and hidden places you’ll discover on your journey.”

Furthermore, the graphical presentation, highlighted by a dynamic weather effects mechanic, will “blow your mind” and the game looks more realistic than anything BioWare has ever created before.

The game is also coming to the PS3 and Xbox 360 but chances are, the RPG faithful are going to want a next-gen console (or a stellar gaming PC) to fully indulge in and appreciate Dragon Age: Inquisition. Being more of a fantasy fan myself, as I never really got into sci-fi, I can’t wait.
