In Extinction, players take on the role of Avil — the last remaining sentinel and the only one with the ability to save humankind from complete demise. Extinction largely focuses on high-speed gameplay while roaming an interactive environment as Avil takes down a seemingly endless number of giant ogres known as Ravenii.

Ravenii are equipped with different weapons and armor, whether they be made of bone, iron, spikes, thorns, or dark steel. This requires Avil to come up with different strategies if he wants to prevent the destruction of humanity.

The only way to defeat the Ravenii is to decapitate them, which is easier said than done when these ogres are covered in spiked armor that will injure Avil when he makes contact. Avil will have to use clever thought and quick wit to trick these ogres into breaking their armor so that he will then be able to decapitate them with a powerful Rune Strike.

Extinction is slated for release in Q1 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
