The CEO of Ubisoft believes there will be a new generation of consoles after the Wii U, Xbox One, and PS4. Considering the thought that “the manufacturers will want to keep control of their consoles.”
“I still think it is not the last generation, because the manufacturers want a way to control their platform and the machine is the best way to have a specific access to that,” he said (ign.com).
Now that gaming consoles can save memory on ‘the cloud’ it will change gaming and the quality of the games. Bandwidth is increasing and so will the gameplay. The future of gaming is very bright, as new consoles will emerge with new ideas and trinkets.
Shall we all hold onto our current consoles? I think yes. Although the future is bright, I believe we should stick to our guns and keep what we already have. Don’t start ditching the PS4 this early, and look forward to what will come.
