343i has promised huge new details during the Xbox conference on June 15, but they know that fans need a small Halo fix to make the wait bearable. That’s why they’ve released a massive pile of new info to Game Informer to share in their July issue. Thankfully, gamers don’t need a subscription to the magazine to catch-all of that new info.

Today the magazine released a new teaser trailer and details to go along with their announcement of a Halo 5: Guardians July cover. What they’ve released into the wild will set any Halo fans excitement levels clear into the stratosphere. Among the first new details revealed was that players will be switching between Agent Locke and the Master Chief during the course of the campaign, similar to Halo 2 with the Arbiter. During those missions players will be joined by either Blue Team with the Master Chief, or Fireteam Osiris with Agent Locke.

Each team member will come with a unique loadout tailored to their skills and, most importantly, gamers will be able to give each of them commands, directing them to attack certain enemies or take different routes. This opens up a whole new world of strategy in Halo 5: Guardians that will also include co-op, allowing friends to drop into the game and take control of one of three characters.

The teaser trailer that dropped with this new info also revealed one of the characters that will be joining Agent Locke on Fireteam Osiris, the famous Buck from ODST. The knife wielding Helljumper appears during the video, confirming that he and voice actor Nathan Fillion will be returning in Halo 5: Guardians. That is only the tip of an immense iceberg of information that 343i is preparing to unleash on gamers hungry for new details. Promising that they will be revealing a brand new multiplayer mode unlike anything Halo has seen before at E3, so stay tuned to GameSkinny for the latest details.
