New SOE Subscription Plan: “All Access” to ALL Eligible Games

SOE is revamping their "all access" subscription model for your benefit.

“All access.” These are two words that makes the consumer feel better, especially when it involves every title in a company’s stable.

Sony Online Entertainment has announced that they’re starting a new “all access” subscription plan for all its games. This promotion will begin “on or about April 2.”

This new subscription model will cost $14.99 (as opposed to $19.99) per month, and according to the FAQ, it will included the following benefits:

  • 500 monthly Station Cash for the SOE’s games marketplaces.
  • 10% discount on all marketplace purchases.
  • Exclusive promotions and offers throughout the year.
  • Top-tier membership level in all eligible SOE games (EverQuest, EverQuest II, DC Universe Online PC, PlanetSide 2 PC, Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, and the upcoming EverQuest Next and EverQuest Next: Landmark).

If you’ve already got a top-tier membership for any of those games, you’ll be automatically upgraded to the “all access” plan when it’s ready. Console versions of those titles are mostly unaffected by the promotion, so that’s not great news for those who prefer to play their MMOs on Sony consoles. That’s too bad, because SOE just announced EverQuest Next for PS4, as well as an estimated release window for Planetside 2.

Console gamers will get the 10% discount if they purchase the PS3 or PS4 version of DC Universe Online. As for our European friends, it seems SOE is working to produce a “similar plan” for the European region. Prices for longer subscription periods (3, 6, and 12 months) will be even lower, but we haven’t received exact details just yet.

What do you think of the new plan?
