Not too long ago, I wrote about an MMO on its way called WildStar, and showed you a video about one of the factions, “The Exiles.” It detailed the world the Exiles lived in, their fight against the evil Dominion, and the various races that composed this ragtag army. But now it’s the Dominion’s turn.
The Glorious Dominion
So, The Dominion. These guys were painted as the big bads in the previous video, by that sweet southern sounding girl Kit Brinny. Now, we have Malvolio Portius, a gentleman and scholar to introduce us to the real story behind the Dominion.

The Dominion appears to made up of 4 races, like the Exiles. Humans, known as the Cassians (supposedly granted the right to Dominion by the precursor races) are big on iron-fisted military rule, “might makes right” ideals, and have no tolerance for uprisings. Then there is the Draken, a reptilian race, long and limber, with twisted horns and long scaly tails. They seem to be the ones doing the Dominion’s dirty work. The third race, called the Mechari, are a race of intelligent, autonomous robots made by the Elden (that “precursor” race I mentioned earlier) known for being talented, quick, and not being able to take a joke. And very much like the Exiles, there’s a 4th race that’s glossed over. Grr! I wanna know!
Regardless, the game is looking amazing. Both factions interest me greatly. On the one hand, the Exiles seem really cool, feeding into my dreams of exploring the galaxy, fighting monsters, and filling me with that sense of wonder again. But the Dominion have me interested as well. I’ve always liked the fancy “better than you because richer than you” types of bad guys. Not to mention my love of expansionist human empires, seeing as I’m a Warhammer 40k fan.
I’ll be bringing you the latest and greatest new on Wildstar, definitely hoping to hear about those races nobody seems to want to talk about as well.
