Concrete news hasn’t yet been released on the highly anticipated Zelda U game. What we do have is news that promises news, and that is so much more than we’ve been working with.

Famitsu, a popular Japanese gaming magazine known for their pride in fact-checking and exclusives, announced that they will be publishing an interview with three key Nintendo players on November 2nd. The interviewees include:

  1. Eiji Aonuma, series producer and manager of The Legend of Zelda
  2. Shiro Mouri, game programmer and program director for Nintendo
  3. Hiromasa Shikata, field designer and director for a number of Zelda games

The interview will focus primarily on The Legend of Zelda: TriForce HeroesFamitsu also guaranteed a short discussion of Zelda games in development for the Wii U. Zelda U will inevitably come up during this discussion, having been announced for Wii U, delayed, and teased via promotional images and short gameplay videos. Fans will hang on every word with triforce-stars in their eyes, should Famitsu‘s interview deliver.

Cue rampage of anticipation and excitement.

Rumors for Twilight Princess HD blew up recently, so there’s a possibility for an elaboration on the Nintendo eShop image and the hacker leak that preceded the news. The vague mention of Wii U games was plural, after all.

The interview’s exciting news doesn’t stop there. Famitsu plans to ask the Nintendo trio for information about the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Zelda franchise. This anniversary will take place in first quarter of 2016. Is it possible Nintendo may even mark their anniversary with the release of more conclusive information regarding Zelda U, in addition to other celebratory plans? The possibilities alone are reason enough to get excited.

Jump for joy with Link or speculate on the exact nature of all the upcoming news in the comments below. Or do both. I don’t judge.
