Previously, some demos with 4K texture resolutions leaked from NVIDIA as the company along with competitor AMD, have said that the future of PC gaming is in ultra-high-resolution textures and assets.

The deal was made as part of NIVIDIA’s The Way It’s Meant To Be Played initiative and the NVIDIA Independent Software Relationship.

Meanwhile, AMD has allegedly spent a ton of cash to optimize EA DICE’s Battlefield 4, the sequel to the super awesome Battlefield 3, which was a part of the recent Humble Origin BundleBattlefield 4 will also be the first game to support AMD’s new Mantle API. This is going counter to the earlier announcement from EA that says Battlefield 4 optimizations would not be exclusive to AMD hardware.

Either way, the next crop of AAA titles is shaping up to be a boon for PC gamers, who have long been plagued with poorly optimized ports of console editions.
