Over 190 Vehicles Removed from GTA Online Shops with Mercenaries Update

Rockstar removed nearly 200 cars from GTA Online shops with the San Andreas Mercenaries update.

Rockstar has removed a sizeable number of cars from GTA Online. Many players, including myself, were looking forward to the San Andreas Mercenaries update and the glut of cars that would be available. Fifteen cars were added in the update, but the community has since found that nearly 200 vehicles have been removed.

As of this writing, 190 vehicles are now missing from Southern San Andreas Super Autos, Legendary Motorsport, Warstock Cache & Carry, and even Benny’s. The removed vehicles will now only be available to PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players on a rotating basis or purchased from other players using the Los Santos Car Meet.

Over the game’s decade-long tenure, this is the first time a mass number of vehicles have been stripped from GTA Online. Rockstar said ahead of the update’s launch that “lesser used cars [would] be removed from in-game websites.” However, I’m sure many fans didn’t expect this many and in this way. While some might argue they weren’t technically taken out of the game, chances of finding them are slim. They’ll come up as Lucky Wheel prizes, maybe sometimes at Los Santos Customs or “event showrooms,” but these vehicles may as well be lost to the majority of GTAO players.

Rockstar are really pushing the current gen version of Grand Theft Auto Online between this, many GTA+ features, and the addition of the Vinewood Car Club, the latter of which puts certain cars behind a paywall.

The GTA Online community, myself included, aren’t exactly happy about this decision, and it will be interesting to see how Rockstar responds to the outcry. We’ll have to wait and see. Until then, here are the cars that were added in the Mercenaries update.
