Panzer Dragoon Remake Coming to PC Soon, PS4 & Xbox One to Follow

The Panzer Dragoon Remake is finally landing on more platforms, starting with PC.

The Panzer Dragoon Remake launched on Nintendo Switch in March, then on Stadia in June. Since then, PC, PS4, and Xbox fans of the classic Sega Saturn game have been patiently awaiting the game’s release on those platforms. Hopefully, they won’t have to wait much longer.

On September 11, the official Panzer Dragoon Twitter account said that the “Panzer Dragoon: Remake will soon be available on additional platforms.” Those platforms include PC (Steam and GOG) and PlayStation 4.

Replying to the tweet below, the account also said that the game would be coming to the Xbox One after PC and PS4.

A subsequent tweet on September 14 said that the PC version of the Panzer Dragoon Remake for Steam and GOG will be releasing on September 25. There is still no word on when the game will come to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, though we suspect it will be before the end of the year.

Most critics, including our own reviewer, found the Panzer Dragoon Remake to be a mostly middling experience, though we did say it’s a remake that remains true to the original’s roots

A nostalgic trip into video gaming history, this Sega Saturn classic has been revamped to look more beautiful than ever without changing the fundamental rail-shooting gameplay. Panzer Dragoon remains firmly rooted in the arcade sensibilities of its era.

It’s short and intentionally unforgiving, but the superb presentation and dragon-focused gameplay give it surprising wings in the modern age. Sega’s intriguing and distinctive series has deserved another chance for years and we hope this is the start of a trend.
