Originally released last August, Papers, Please became very popular among the gaming community with general high praise. It received an aggregated score of 81.95 percent at GameRankings and 85 out of 100 at Metacritic. Because of the popularity, it’s being ported over to other platforms.

Papers, Please was released on Linux in February. There hasn’t been a release date set for the PlayStation Vita version, but a port was announced for the handheld in August. It’s unknown whether an Android version will come out, but developer Lucas Pope hasn’t “ruled it out.”

A reason that the game is only for the iPad is because the developer didn’t believe there was enough real estate on the iPhone to play the game. He tweeted out that it was “tight even on the iPad mini.” If that’s true, it should be interesting to see how the Vita version is implemented.

The iPad version of Papers, Please will be just like the PC version except nudity will be censored.

Those interested in picking up the game on iPad shouldn’t wait. It will be available this weekend at the special launch price of $5.99 before it reaches the retail price of $7.99.
