Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous Release Date Revealed

Alongside the reveal of the Wrath of the Righteous release date, the second beta period for Kickstarter and Slacker Backer patrons is live.

It’s been more than two and a half years since Pathfinder: Kingmaker released, and developer Owlcat Games have announced that the follow-up to that CRPG, Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous, is just around the bend. Wrath of the Righteous will release for PC on Steam and Good Old Games on September 2, 2021.

Owlcat said that the game is available for players to add to their wishlists, but according to the Wrath of the Righteous Steam page, it is currently not yet available for pre-order.

The second Wrath of the Righteous beta is live now, as well. Some fans who backed the RPG on Kickstarter and Slacker Backer will have access to the beta starting May 5. The second beta includes content that was available in the first beta, and Owlcat have made a number of changes based on fan feedback to that content players can experience in a new light.

On top of that, the developer has included “new content such as Crusade gameplay, new side quests, an intelligent weapon companion, a weather system and more.”

We recently went hands-on with the beta, and while we enjoyed quite a few aspects of it, we ultimately found the current build “by the numbers.” That’s not a bad thing, since it appears to be more Pathfinder, and there’s certainly plenty of time between now and early September to iron out a few of the wrinkles. Stay tuned.
