Persona 2: Eternal Punishment will finally be making its way to the PlayStation Network, judging by new ratings for the game on the ESRB website. This will mark the second release of Eternal Punishment, over two years after Persona 2: Innocent Sin was finally localized for the PSP.

The original PlayStation version of Eternal Punishment costs anywhere from $70 to $200, depending on the game’s condition. This will be the first release that new generation Shin Megami Tensei and Persona fans can pick up without a heavy investment.

Both Persona 2 chapters are darker than later games in the series, and mark the closest to a main-SMT experience the Persona series has to offer. Innocent Sin is the first “half” of the game, but it is not necessary to play Sin before Punishment in order to understand the story.

There has yet to be an official announcement on the game’s release, but ESRB ratings are generally reliable. Expect to see Persona 2: Eternal Punishment make its way to the PSN sometime over the coming months.
