The biggest ghost hunting game on the block has revamped its roadmap with more tangible, and very exciting, milestones across four patches culminating to the 1.0 update. Let’s take a look at the Phasmophobia 2024 roadmap and what’s to come.
Phasmophobia 2024 Roadmap Update: Details on Patches Leading to 1.0
The developer post for the roadmap lists off both set patch milestones and what they’ll entail, along with other additions and improvements that will be added sporadically through the year. Notably, it denotes that this roadmap is for 2024 “and beyond,” potentially indicating that 1.0 won’t be out this year.
Patch v0.9+ Additions
The 0.9 update for Phasmophobia and subsequent patches will finally bring a new shop interface, which absolutely no Phasmo player is going to complain about considering how hard to use it currently is. We’ll also be seeing some changes to progression and item tiers, thank goodness. How the lighting overhaul will go has yet to be seen, but it certainly needs it after the last lighting change.
Notably, the 2024 roadmap plan indicates that the Phasmophobia console release won’t be coming out until after this patch because of the progression adjustments, as well as:
- Lighting overhaul.
- Eye adaption.
- Screen space GI.
- Progression rate improvements.
- Item tier adjustments.
- Shop v3.
Patch v0.10+ Additions
This patch is going to bring new tasks and optional objectives, both of which are very exciting. Whatever “new tasks” means, though, has yet to be revealed. A new evidence type is the most exciting addition with this particular patch, meaning we may see some changes to the current ghost roster.
- New tasks.
- New optionals.
- Rewards changes.
- Photo overhaul.
- Video evidence.
- New equipment: Sound recorder.
Patch v0.11+ Additions
Patch 0.11 will finally bring player customization, which has been in huge demand since the game’s release in Early Access. My friends and I have all been running around Phasmophobia with the same models for years, so it’s time for a change. Kinetic Games list new player animations as a feature in this patch, maybe we can finally get emotes? We’ll have to wait and see.
- New player models.
- New player animations.
- CCTV overhaul.
- Player customization.
1.0 Full Release Additions
The full launch is meant to be massive, so much so that Kinetic Games have taken to calling it Horror 2.0 and have done so for some time now. Whatever is coming with Phasmophobia 1.0 is going to be a whole laundry list of changes and new features, if the buzz is to be believed. Which I think it is. Events getting an overhaul and hallucinations finally coming into play are both more than a little exciting, particularly with everything else this patch is set to entail.
- New ghost models.
- Hunt overhaul.
- Hallucinations.
- Events overhaul.
- New interactions.
- Much more…
Miscellaneous Phasmophobia Additions
Along with all the content scheduled to come with the aforementioned patches are a chunk of performance improvements, map reworks, a new map, and the highly anticipated console release. The new map, named Point Hope, will take us to investigate a lighthouse. The Bleasdale and Grafton Farmhouses are also getting overhauls. These additions will come to Phasmophobia “as soon as they are ready.”
- Console release
- Point Hope map
- Map reworks
- Other new maps
- Bug fixes
- Performance improvements
The Phasmophobia roadmap has a lot of sought-after changes, but we likely still have quite a long time to wait for the full 1.0 release, even if these tweaks are (hopefully) coming in 2024. All we can do is wait for now, and hone our skills for the challenges to come. Check out some of our Phasmo guides here on GameSkinny, such as our all level unlocks guide and ghost cheat sheet.
