Gamers in the greater Rochester, NY area converged on the local Best Buy and several other stores, forming massive lines and braving cold weather in order to be the first to get their hands on Sony's latest console.
Those without a preorder had to wait in line and hope for a chance to get a PlayStation 4.
The line held approximately 80 to 100 people when I arrived a few minutes after midnight.
Not everyone was able to get a console. Only about 30 of the people in the front of the line left with a PS4.
Gamers waited anxiously to see if they could get a ticket ensuring them of a PS4. Unfortunately, over half of the line was turned away.
Finally, my own PlayStation 4! Luckily I placed my preorder all the way back in June. I had a hunch this launch would be big! Good luck to everyone else out there hoping to pick up Sony's latest console.
