Sony has beat the retailers to the punch. The entertainment company has officially dropped the price of the PlayStation TV in the UK to nearly half its original cost following widespread retailer-specific discounts.
In an exclusive announcement to dealspwn.com, a Sony spokesperson stated that the company intends to offer customers an “even greater value for money when it becomes available for only £44.99.” With the original price of £84.99, this cut far exceeds any deals previously offered by retailers.
Now with an even more accessible price, you can benefit from the advanced features and technology that PS TV brings to your home entertainment experience.
The Playstation TV offers several luxurious features, including PS4 Remote Play Streaming, PS Vita TV play, and the ability to enjoy PlayStation Classics such as Crash Bandicoot and Tomb Raider without one of Sony’s traditional consoles. Despite this, consumers aren’t seeing the value. The device is currently only compatible with select PS Vita titles, and still has not gained support for popular streaming services Netflix and Hulu.
US retailers have been slashing the price of the micro-console as well, so it’s likely that the UK is just the first of many to receive the official reduction as Sony attempts to shift more units worldwide.
