More 20th Anniversary Pokémon are on the way this summer. With Manaphy’s time drawing to a close, Shaymin, the Gratitude Pokémon from Sinnoh, will have its time to shine starting next week.

Shaymin will be available via Nintendo Wi-Fi starting Friday, July 1st.

Shaymin is a Grass type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Diamond, Pokémon Pearl, and Pokémon Platinum. The 20th Anniversary Shaymin will be Level 100 and know four moves: Seed Flare, Aromatherapy, Substitute, and Energy Ball. Shaymin will also have the ability, Natural Cure, which heals all status conditions when it is switched out of battle. Like previous 20th Anniversary Legendaries, Shaymin will only be available for Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.

Shaymin’s Sky Forme

Shaymain can also turn into a Grass/Flying type with a secondary form called Sky Forme. The new form also comes with the ability, Serene Grace, which boosts the likelihood of additional effects occurring (i.e. Psychic has 20% chance of reducing Special Defense instead of its usual 10% chance).

How to Change Shaymin

Shaymin changes into its Sky Forme when exposed to Gracidea flowers.

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, you can change Shaymin to its Sky Forme by going to the Berry Master’s House on Route 123 and talking to the man in the top left corner of the house.

In X and Y, take your Shaymin to the Pokémon Center in Snowbelle City and talk to the girl on the right side of the room. She’ll give you the Gracidea flower and use it on Shaymin between 5 A.M. and 8 P.M. to change it to Sky Forme.

If you want to change Shaymin back to its Land Forme, deposit the Pokémon in the PC.  This works for both Gen. 6 games and Shaymin will revert back to its Land Forme after 8 P.M. and before 5 A.M. in X and Y.

The 20th anniversary Shaymin distribution event will end on July 24th so be sure to mark your calendars!
