Pokemon Go Masterball Arriving in June Research Event

Never fail to catch a raid Pokemon Go Master Balls are coming so you never fail to catch a 'mon again.

Niantic has announced that the famed Pokemon Master Ball, known to catch even the mightiest of Pokemon, will be released in Pokemon GO. Just like in the Pokemon games, the Master Ball will be a rare item — but one well worth the effort. The Master Ball will be available starting May 22 as part of the final story of Rising Heroes. The Special Research needed to obtain one will begin on June 1.

Willow will be returning, though it’s unclear if that means we’ll finally get the last two tasks of Willow’s Research or if this will be a new Special Research quest. Either way, Willow will be giving us an update on the current state of Team GO Rocket. Finishing this Special Research will reward a single Master Ball.

The Master Ball will retain its ability to catch whatever Pokemon it catches, whether it be a wild Pokemon or one defeated in a Raid. The only additional details we have on obtaining multiple Master Balls is that more chances to earn them will be coming.

It’s safe to say we won’t be seeing the Master Ball end up in the shop anytime soon, if at all. It seems the rarity will remain in place, making the choice of what Pokemon you use it on a bit more difficult. I know I’ll have a hard time picking when to throw the Master Ball.

That’s all we currently know when it comes to the release of the Pokemon Go Master Ball. Stay tuned for more details, including what Special Research you’ll need to complete to obtain one.
