Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire (ORAS) are 3DS remakes of the Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire games for Game Boy Advance. The basic storylines stay true to the originals, but gameplay is significantly improved. The PokeNav, for instance, now has additional features, such as the DexNav (which shows Pokemon you have encountered before) and the AreaNav (which is a town map). There are countless other features, which you can read about more in-depth in these GameSkinny guides: the Guide about New Features, the DexNav Guide, and the Competitive Breeding Guide.

$3 million in 3 days is an impressive feat, but nothing new to the Pokemon franchise. The previous release, Pokemon X and Y, sold 4 million copies in two days. However, it is important to consider that Pokemon X and are original games with brand new content, while Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are remakes of previously released games. But there’s another thing to remember: this ORAS sales report does not factor in Europe; Europe had a later release date of November 28, 2014 and those sales have not been accounted for as of yet.

Nintendo has been doing well with Pokemon sales, and the games’ ratings are very high. GameStop ratings are 9.8-10/10, Amazon ratings are 4.4-4.6/5, and Best Buy has the highest rating for both games.
