Like Rune FactoryKitaria Fables blends RPG elements with traditional farm-sim mechanics. The player wakes up on their uncle’s Thunderbunn Farm in Paw Village, but also like Rune Factory, building the farm and forging relationships is only part of the daily routine. Once the crops are cared for, it’s time to hit the dungeons.

Kitaria Fables features real-time action combat, where the strength of the players’ crafted equipment and items plays a significant role in how battles unfold. There’s special emphasis on prep work — gathering items and hitting the shops before setting out — and even magic has to be forged at the local smithy.

The relationships nurtured with other villagers also helps determine certain stats and what bonus rewards the player gets. However, it’s not clear whether Kitaria Fables includes romance and marriage options.

Kitaria Fables is expected to release sometime later in 2021.
