Quakecon 2016 was held over the weekend from August 4th to August 7th. One of the first pieces of content released was a new trailer for Arkane Studios’ reboot of Prey, slated for a 2017 release.

“Set in an alternate future, Prey puts you into the uniform of Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to grant you alien powers.”

This was the first look at the next installment of the franchise, which has been in development in one shape or form since 2011. Originally being developed by Human Head Studios as “Prey 2″, a direct sequel to the eponymous 2006 game, it was “canceled” in 2014. Earlier this summer, Bethesda announced that a reboot of the franchise was being developed by Dishonored developers Arkane Studios.

In an interview with PC Gamer, lead designer Ricardo Bare spoke on their vision for the title. “We wanted to do something with science fiction. Our brand of game, but in a science fiction setting on a space station with aliens, and so that seemed a really good match.”

If the game is anything like the Dishonored series, you can bet it will be immersive and hard to put down.
