The open beta has been back on since November 26th at 12pm EST. The Ubisoft forum page has information on the problems, how they tested them, and what fixes were deployed when bugs were found. The community Manager Ubi_Jax posted:

“We want to thank everyone who is participating in this beta. Your feedback helps us improve. For everyone who hasn’t been able to play as yet, we apologize for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience and understanding.”

Rainbow Six Siege was announced back on June 19th in 2014. The game’s official release is supposed to be on December 1st 2015. That release date comes after an announcement about the game being delayed in order to give some additional development time. The game is meant to feature 11 maps at launch and some free downloadable content. There is a microtransaction store available for players who want to speed up their progress.

There are three different editions of the game: the base package which just includes the game, a “Gold Edition” package, and a “Collector’s Edition” package. The “Gold Edition” will include the game and a Season Pass.

The Season Pass Includes:

  • 7-day exclusive access to 8 new operators that you can instantly add to your roster
  • Exclusive Season Pass Porter weapon skin
  • Safari Bundle of five weapon skins
  • 600 Rainbow Credits
  • 5% permanent renown boost (this helps to speed up progression)
  • And 5 Daily challenges instead of the standard 3

The “Collector’s Edition” Includes:

  • Standard Edition Game plus the Season Pass
  • Operator Backpack
  • Art of The Siege Tactical Guide
  • CTU Operators Hat
  • Metal Case
  • And a Compass Carbineer
