Razer Offering $25,000 Reward for Information on Prototype Theft

Razer's latest triplescreen laptops have been stolen from the Consumer Electronics Show.

Razer’s new triple monitor prototype, Project Valerie, has been stolen from the Las Vegas show floor of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES). There has been rumors of industrial espionage which surfaced, but no findings have been made. Currently, a $25,000 reward has been offered for information regarding the prototype theft.

According to a Facebook post by Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan:

“This update is to confirm that two Razer Project Valerie laptop prototypes were stolen from the Razer booth at CES. The product was taken from the Razer press room at approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, January 8, 2017. A $25,000 reward is being offered for original information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of a criminal suspect.”

This triple-screened laptop was one of the showstoppers this year at CES, with its automated screen deployment and huge resolution wowing press and consumers alike. With this new hardware certainly being extremely valuable, solving this theft will be of the utmost priority to Razer.

Razer does have experience with these crimes however. In 2011, two prototype Razer Blades were stolen from Razer’s very own offices. Luckily, the Razor Blade was quite successful despite these setbacks. Hopefully the same can be said for Project Valerie.

If you know anything about the Project Valerie’s theft, Razer asks you contact them at [email protected] giving all the information needed.
