Relive the Same Day Over and Over Again in Groundhog Inspired Game

Garbage Day makes you relive the same day over and over again, while you find clues to break out of the loop

Low-polygon gore and infinite freedom are just some of the features in a new game on the Steam Greenlight program called Garbage Day. Inspired by the film Groundhog Day, Garbage Day puts you in a town where you are stuck in an infinite time loop day after day, after the explosion of a nuclear plant. When the day ends, or even if you die, you wake up and go through the same day you had already experienced.

Throughout each day the goal is to get out of this circle you’re in by finding out what’s going on from exploring the town. Even though your life is on repeat, you can remember everything that you have been through prior to the reset. This opens up new dialogue option among the citizens and more bits of information that leads up to the conclusion.

Freedom is something that the developer stresses:

“In this game you have to explore and interact to find out how to get out of the time loop. You are open to do anything you want, kill innocent people, go to work, watch tv, go to the park, etc. I don’t want to spoil anything, but you’ll be surprised how open ended this game is. “

You’re free do anything in this game, such as pour yourself a bowl of cereal, fix your broken Windows 98 PC, interact with NPC’s, and even turn into a psychotic murderer who blows up his poor neighbor’s house.

The game is on Steam Greenlight right now, and is planned for a release in a few months with enough support.
