One of the most popular original series launches in Netflix history, The Witcher is likely to see three or more seasons according to a recent earnings report.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings appeared in a Q4 earnings report video (available below) to discuss how The Witcher is becoming one of the most-watched first seasons in company history.

One line from his presentation, in particular, may interest fans of The Witcher series, as Hastings described it as a “massive new franchise that will develop season after season.” In other words, expect multiple seasons.

According to the earnings video, at least 76 million households watched the show since it released on December 20. While many Netflix originals tend to end between Season 2 or Season 3, it seems like The Witcher is popular enough to keep going for years to come.

While casting hasn’t actually begun, we may see Mark Hamill as Vesemir in the second season of The Witcher thanks to some serious fan meddling on social media.

When will The Witcher season 2 premiere? We don’t have a specific date yet, but it was greenlit before the first season even hit Netflix. Barring any production snags, expect it to land in 2021.
