Rockstar Announces First GTA6 Trailer to Drop in Early December

Rockstar finally announced that the GTA6 trailer was coming, and it's not too far off.

The past month has been rife with rumors about a trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6, with the latest rumored date having come and gone, disappointingly, on October 26. President of Rockstar Games, Sam Houser, took to X (Twitter) earlier today to announce the GTA6 trailer is finally coming.

In the mentioned tweet, Houser mentions that they will be releasing the first trailer for the “next Grand Theft Auto” in early December.

Notably, he doesn’t say “Grand Theft Auto 6” or something similar, which might indicate the game veers from the numbered format of GTA4 and GTA5. This wouldn’t be the first time, of course, with San Andreas and Vice City both having made their mark on gaming history in the past.

The Future of GTA6 Is Likely Console-only, At Least for a While

The amount of rumors surrounding GTA6, or whatever it’ll be titled, has been staggering. It seems every GTA community mogul pulls a new cryptic piece of “evidence” of a new trailer each month, and desperate fans have fallen for it time and time again. Each theory has been wrong, and hopes have been crushed enough.

It’s taken a long time for Rockstar to say anything about the next game themselves, maybe too long. Grand Theft Auto 5 was released in 2013, with GTA Online not too long after. They’ve also been heavily pushing upgrading to the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 versions of GTA 5 for increased max vehicle speeds and unique content, which has pushed many players to get new consoles just for an upgraded version of a decade-old game.

Saying that Grand Theft Auto 6 is the most anticipated game in the world, and maybe of all time, might just be an understatement considering how long it’s been and how dedicated the Grand Theft Auto 5 playerbase has been all these years. It’s also very safe to assume this upcoming game will release solely on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, perhaps with a PC version later. A PC version coming alongside the console release would be amazing, but that’s not how Rockstar have released any of their games. It’s not likely to change with this one.

“Early December” is about a month away, so we don’t have long to wait yet for the GTA6 trailer. We have long enough to sit here and theorize, though, and you know the community at large is doing just that right at this moment.
