Just a few days ago, game-breaking optimization issues forced Warner Bros. to remove Batman: Arkham Knight from the Steam’s digital shelves. Today, community admin Yorick took to the Arkham Knight forums to lay a roadmap for the game’s repair, stating Rocksteady’s priorities in moving forward:

Below is the list of the key areas where we are dedicating our resources to improve the experience for our loyal fans:

– Support for frame rates above 30FPS in the graphics settings menu.
– Fix for low resolution texture bug
– Improve overall performance and frame rate hitches
– Add more options to the graphics settings menu
– Improvements to hard drive streaming and hitches
– Address full screen rendering bug on gaming laptop
– Improvements to system memory and VRAM usage
– NVIDIA SLI bug fixes
– Enabling AMD Crossfire
– NVIDIA and AMD updated drivers

These appear to be Rocksteady’s primary goals for the game’s re-release. In the meantime, Yorick states that Rocksteady will also be addressing a few of the minor bugs still plaguing PC gamers who have already purchased the game. The first patch is set to resolve some crashing issues, Steam cache verification issues, and broken rain effects.

While I’m thankful to see Rocksteady taking community standards seriously, this laundry list of launch goals isn’t likely to be completed quickly. Yorick states:

The work is significant and while we are making good progress on improving performance, it will take some time to ensure that we get the right fixes in place.
