RUMOR – DriveClub May Be Delayed Until Next Year

If rumors are true, Watch Dogs may not be the only title seeing a delay.
This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

With the release of the PlayStation 4 about a month away, it seems like some games won’t be making the launch day deadline. With news that Watch Dogs has been delayed to 2014, many gamers who were anticipating the title will have to wait even longer.

But it seems like Watch Dogs may not be the only title seeing a delay. Latest rumors say that DriveClub, the racing simulator exclusive to the PS4, may be delayed until 2014 as well.

The rumor was first reported on TheSameCoin, but said to take it as “100% rumor” with hopes that it would turn out to be false. However, Kotaku also looked into the rumor and their source confirmed that the reports were true, with the game being removed from a PS4 event that was held recently. Adding to the speculation was this tweet by Paul Rustchynsky, the design director of DriveClub:

Although the tweet could be interpreted in different ways, it could be seen as a sign that it has been delayed and they are working on when to release an official statement. If these rumors turn out to be true, it would be bad news for Sony–and although I don’t want to admit it, Paul Tassi at Forbes makes an interesting conclusion: With Watch Dogs, and now possibly DriveClub, being delayed until next year, the Xbox One lineup is looking even better than it did before.

What do you think? If DriveClub is delayed, do you think it would affect the launch of the PS4? Or do you think Microsoft’s E3 fiasco is still fresh in gamers’ minds? Let me know in the comments below!
