Being able to support their chosen teams and favorite players is one of the key joys of any sort of sports fan. Whether by waving a flag at a game, wearing a hat with a team logo, or arguing with others online or in person about the merits of a given player, these shows of support tend to push people to heights of both creativity and passion. Fans of League of Legends and its League Championship Series will be able to join in on the fun soon, thanks to Riot, and they will even be able to give some direct support to their favorite team while they are at it.
Riot has created summoner icons for the professional League of Legends teams playing in the LCS right now. The icons on the Public Beta Environment will sell for 250 RP each and–with the coming changes to the loading screens allowing summoner icons to be visible–will show during this loading process like any other icon should.
Even more exciting, 20% of the purchase price for each icon will go directly to the team whose logo is represented. Get your game-face on, get hype, and get a little bit of extra scratch in your favorite team’s pocket while you’re at it!
