SimCity 5 Has a 10 Region Limit

Apparently SimCity 5 Has a 10 Region Per Server Limit - The Wonders of Online Saves Get Better All the Time!
This article is over 11 years old and may contain outdated information

Yep, you read that right. According to Reddit and other sources such as OceanQuigley via Twitter you are limited to 10 regions per server on your account. The solution is that you can delete one, or as some have suggested, buy another game on a separate origin account.

According to the Twitter source, this has been known for a few months, but it certainly wasn’t made very evident in any way in the UI such as a “region count” sort of UI element or anything similar. I understand that this is probably perfectly reasonable for an online game, otherwise people could completely flood the servers with saves, but it just doesn’t feel right…

In the end, it is another item on the long list of disadvantages of cloud saves and “always on” functionality. Personally, I’ve never paid attention to SimCity saves. I just create a region… mess it up, or make it succeed… and then start another. Regardless, this is another stick in the eye for players of a game that had so much potential.
